Great news for Leadership Rockwall, Rockwall PAWS, Animal Services, and Rockwall Parks and Recreation Department.
I don’t think any one read the rules…but fun was had by ‘almost’ everyone.
Must have had 60 – 70 dogs over the four hours (a rough count). Had more Huskies than any other breed, and I think Boxers came in next. Had 3 lb dogs and Newfoundlands…Rotties, Doxies, all kinds of terriers, German Shepherds, Dalmatians, Boxers, Aussies, Border Collies, Chihuahuas, Poms, two of the biggest Bull Dogs I have ever seen, a Pharaoh Hound, Basenjis, Coon Hounds, a Greyhound, Whippet, and Italian Greyhound, Pit Bulls, Bichons, Collies, Shih Tzu’s,Golden Retrievers, LABs, and others…
The biggest hit was the natural water hole (mud hole) they rolled in and all became GREY!!!That probably won’t last – even though it was great fun for the DOGS!!! It was fairly warm so they were the only ones cool!!
People would say, he/she has ‘never been around other dogs before’, and in the same breath push the dog through the gate…only to stand in amazement while all you could see were teeth!! There is a learning curve and usually we find to our amazement that the dogs learn more quickly than we do.
Animal Serivces had three wonderful dogs up for adoptiion and Jack the Pit Bull was adopted at the end of the day. Another time for Bojangles and Chester…
All in all, IT WAS GREAT.
